Our Story

Built on Art, Family, and a Little Bit of Music

Long before opening the doors here in Cashiers, Buddy Driggers looked at creativity a little differently than your average jeweler. He actually holds a degree in music, spending years learning how rhythm, structure, and balance can come together to make something beautiful. But eventually, his true calling won out: a deep-seated passion for transforming raw precious metals and brilliant gemstones into pieces people can cherish for a lifetime.

As a third-generation Master Goldsmith, the craft is practically in his DNA. To back up his natural creative instincts with serious technical skill, Buddy went off to South Florida to complete intensive training at Stewart’s International School for Jewelers. Today, with over 26 years of hands-on experience at the workbench, his style is a perfect mix of an artist's soul and a master metalsmith's absolute precision.

Cashiers Fine Jewelry isn't just a business; it’s a family project built on trust, collaboration, and deep roots. We operate as a dedicated trio right here at 113 US-64 East, proudly serving the communities of Cashiers, Highlands, Glenville, Sapphire, Lake Toxaway, and beyond. We love being a part of Western North Carolina, with everyone on our team bringing their own unique background to the table.

While Buddy runs the master workshop, his wife Serena curates the gallery. With a background as a professional baker, Serena brings that same eye for delicate detail, color harmony, and artistic presentation from the culinary world right into our showroom. Drawing on her previous career, she ensures the gallery feels warm, inviting, and beautifully styled.

Then there’s Buddy’s sister, Christy, who manages the business and marketing side. A woman of many talents, Christy previously ran global marketing campaigns in the computer software and aerospace industries—and she even spent time working as a personal chef. She brought all of that corporate marketing expertise, business focus, and hospitality back home to help us connect with the community.

Bringing Your Ideas to Life

We truly believe that the best jewelry tells a story about the person wearing it. That’s why we love custom design. You don't need a perfect blueprint to work with us—you can bring in a sketch, a photo on your phone, or just a rough idea, and we’ll design it together.

Whether we are sourcing loose diamonds with world-class GIA grading reports or working with your own family stones, we combine old-school, time-tested casting methods with modern 3-D printing technology to make sure the final piece is exactly what you imagined. It’s a completely collaborative process, and we love helping our neighbors across the plateau create one-of-a-kind, wearable art that you won't find anywhere else.

Precision, Repairs, and Giving Old Heirlooms New Life

Behind our showroom counters is a working studio dedicated to professional jewelry repair and preserving history. Because Buddy has spent nearly three decades at the bench, he can handle just about anything. Whether you need a loose diamond secured, a worn-down setting rebuilt, or a ring resized, your jewelry is in safe hands.

Our bench expertise also extends to fine horology. We provide specialized care and maintenance for high-end timepieces, understanding the complex mechanisms that power the world's most prestigious luxury watch brands.

We invest in the best tools for the job, like our heatless laser welder. This advanced tech allows Buddy to make microscopic metal repairs without heating up the surrounding area, meaning he can safely fix complex jewelry and delicate timepieces without damaging fragile stones.

That technical expertise is especially important when it comes to our vintage and estate jewelry restoration service. We know that family heirlooms carry deep emotional and historical value, so we treat them with immense respect. Whether you need a certified appraisal for insurance purposes or want decades of wear polished off a gemstone, a period-accurate replacement stone sourced, or fragile antique prongs reinforced, our goal is always to protect the original integrity of your jewelry so it can be passed down to the next generation.
